Allyson Smith

Since 2000, Allyson June Smith has been tickling Canada’s comedy scene from the moment she put down the chalk brush and picked up a mic. Playing to packed rooms has become like another day in the classroom for this former schoolteacher.

With credits including her own hour long Comedy special on Canadian television, writing for CBC Radio’s hit show The Debaters, and now her third showing this July in the prestigious Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival.

Chris Martin

Chris is one of the newest and most exciting acts to hit the comedy circuit. His wholly original social commentary, observations and anecdotes are his trade mark. He brings intelligent material as well as simple immature jokes to any room.

Awards & Nominations

Stuart Goldsmith

Stuart's infectious banter channels the effortless charisma and quick-fire timing honed over a youth misspent as a street performer. He is equally sought-after as an act and an MC, performing regularly for Avalon, Off The Kerb, The Glee Club, The Banana Cabaret, The Comedy Company, Up The Creek and Bound & Gagged.

Even though he's writing this in the third person, he finds it hard to describe his own style, so this is what fellow comic Paul Sinha said about him recently:

Quincy

Stand-up, presenter, actor and compere, Quincy hosts his own live chat show, is a TV warm-up (BBC's Blouse and Skirts) and has presented on BBC1 Xtra and Klymaxx FM. His live comedy work includes weekends at The Comedy Store, regular weekends at Jongleurs and Jongleurs On The Road, and comedy clubs up and down the country and abroad, headlining and compering. He also tours in large-scale venues all over the UK and as a stand-up and in sketch shows including United Colours of Comedy at the Hackney Empire and Big Sister at The Oval Theatre, The Hackney Empire and Stratford East Theatre.

Philberto

Philberto has been enjoying the English comedy circuit for the past two years, during which time he has established himself as a headline act.

A regular at Jongleurs, The Comedy Store, The Comedy Cafe and a favourite at The Banana Cabaret as well as headlining at many university and club gigs across the country, Philberto has a vibrant energy and hard hitting style that makes twenty minutes disappear in the blink of an eye.

Jim Tavare

Originally from Macclesfield, a young Jim Tavaré moved to London during the mid 80’s. Although interested in art and already having played the double bass in a psychobilly band with a member of New Order, Jim didn’t really have a career plan in mind.

On a whim, he decided to audition for a place at the notoriously elite drama school RADA. He succeeded, and studied acting there (some of his contemporaries include Ralph Fiennes, Alex Kingston, Clive Owen and Joely Richardson).

Andrew Watts

Andrew Watts is one of the most talked-about new acts on the Comedy Circuit, whose distinctive style and original material mark him out as one to watch for the future.  Previously a solicitor in London, he is now a full-time comedian and writer based in Wiltshire.  His first full-length Edinburgh Show, "I wish I could be like Andrew Watts", received great reviews, and he is now concentrating on building his reputation on the club circuit.

As seen on FHM's Stand-Up Hero (ITV4) and The World Stands Up (Comedy Central)

Tom Wrigglesworth

Yorkshire funny man Tom Wrigglesworth became a national have-a-go-hero when he rescued a little old lady from the jaws of Virgin train bureaucracy, only to be arrested for begging. His subsequent sell-out show, ‘Tom Wrigglesworth’s Open Return Letter to Richard Branson’, bagged him the Chortle award for Best Show 2010, and a nomination for the main Edinburgh Festival Comedy gong. He recently clinched a deal for his own Radio 4 series, Tom Wrigglesworth’s Open Letters, tackling consumer affairs in his own hilarious way.

Andy White

Andy is a Brummie who escaped from a call centre to become a stand up comic. He combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect.

Andy's humour embraces silly voices, funny faces, observational humour, topical humour and his mixed race background. He can do material that's clever, cheeky, sick or just silly. His performance can shift from deadpan to loud and physical.

Carl Hutchinson

Carl Hutchinson started stand up comedy one year into his mathematics degree at Newcastle University in 2007 and quickly became a multi-award winning comedian. In August of 2007 Carl reached the final of the esteemed So You Think You’re Funny competition held in Edinburgh and in October of the same year he was crowned the winner of the Beat the Frog World Series competition held in Manchester. Not content with just one award he headed to Camden in October 2008 to become Magners Pub Comedian of the Year.
